2007 Scholarship Winners
President Dr. David Howie is pleased to announce Athol Murray College of Notre Dame post-secondary scholarship recipients from the Class of 2007. Notre Dame students received $1,329,936 million dollars in academic and athletic scholarships to universities throughout Canada and the U.S.A. All Scholarships are calculated on a 4 year post secondary education value with the potential of further increase.
Congratulations Jorden MacSwain and Lindsay Sykes on receiving the University of Toronto National Book Award for 2007 for Outstanding Academic Achievement.
Janelle Shervan was awarded the Terry Fox Humanitarian Award valued at $28,000.00 over 4 years to be applied to any University or College in Canada.
The following is a list of the scholarship money confirmed by the graduates as of August, 2007:
| Dominique Bernier - St. Thomas University; Combined Athletic and Academic scholarship for hockey valued at approximately $11,425 over 5 years. The Alexander Rutherford Scholarship for achieving honors in Grades 10, 11 and 12 - valued at $2400.00. |
| Carey Birg - the Weyburn Inland Terminal Bursary valued at $400.00. |
| Laurie Brownrigg - Carleton University; Academic Entrance Scholarship valued at $4000.00 over 4 years. |
| Daneca Butterfield - Robert Morris University; NCAA Division I Academic and Athletic Scholarship for hockey valued at $74,000 US. |
| Scott Campbell - University of Alberta; Academic Entrance Scholarship valued at $1250.00 and a Faculty of Engineering scholarship valued at $1750. |
| Nic Chartier - the Binscarth Lion's Club bursary for $500.00 and the Chasing the Dream Scholarship for hockey valued at $1000.00 - both to be applied to a Post-Secondary program of choice. |
| Antoine Desrosiers - $1500.00 MAC'S Scholarship Award for Academic Excellence, Community involvement & volunteer activities, Role Model Characteristics, Attitude and a commitment to Future Career Planning. |
