4 Hounds in NHL Draft

Wilcox, SK - Athol Murray College of Notre Dame's Director of Hockey Development, Mr. Dale Derkatch, is pleased to announce that four Hounds have been ranked in the upcoming 2007 NHL Entry Draft. The players are Logan MacMillan, Keith Aulie, Dan Nycholat and goaltender Linden Rowat.

MacMillan attended Notre Dame in 2004-2005 before joining the Halifax Mooseheads in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League. He has played with the Mooseheads for two seasons, this season alone MacMillan played in 68 games and had 20 goals and 35 assists for 55 points. MacMillan was ranked #42 by Central Scouting in the Final Rankings for the NHL Entry Draft.

Keith Aulie attended Notre Dame in 2004-2005 before he went off to join the Brandon Wheat Kings in the Western Hockey League. Aulie is a solid defenseman who played in 66 games for the Wheat Kings this year and finished with 9 points and 82 penalty minutes. Aulie has been ranked #108th in the Entry Draft.

Dan Nycholat attended Notre Dame in 2004 to 2006. Nycholat joined the Canmore Eagles in the Alberta Junior Hockey League. Nycholat finished the season with 7 goals and 17 assists for 24 points. Nycholat has been ranked #166th from the Central Scouting. Nycholat's older brother Lawrence Nycholat plays for the Ottawa Senators, he also attended Notre Dame.


Logan MacMillan featured in picture playing for the Halifax Mooseheads
Linden Rowat left Notre Dame in 2005 to join the Regina Pats in the Western Hockey League. Rowat played in 52 games for the Pats this season; he combined for 1227 saves and 141 goals against in 2948 minutes played. Rowat finished the season with a 25-18-1 record with 4 shutouts. He has been ranked #4 in North American goalies from the NHL's Central Scouting.

The NHL Entry Draft will be held June 22-23 in Columbus, Ohio.
