2011-12 Annual Fund Each year as we look towards launching our Annual Campaign we are reminded just how many individuals and corporations support Notre Dame. We really want you to know how much we appreciate the dedication and support given by so many of our alumni, family and friends. This year we would like to look back at just where Notre Dame has come in the last 15 year, and where, with a new strategic plan, Notre Dame will be going in the future. For most private schools, tuition and fees do not fully cover the cost of operations. At Notre Dame, tuition and fees cover about 70% of that cost. Our Annual Fund helps bridge the gap between fees and the actual cost of providing the Notre Dame experience. Your annual gift is essential to providing the best education possible. Many of you faithfully contribute each and every year. Thank you for your commitment. We are deeply grateful for every gift, large or small. Last year the gym renovation was one of the priorities for the Annual Campaign. Renovations were completed over the Christmas break when the final piece, a new sprung hardwood floor was installed. The College’s objective was to pay for the renovations from donations. To date, we are somewhat short on that objective and would ask those of you who would like to donate to the gym project to do so. Your assistance would be greatly appreciated. Our Match Play program continues. This program complements our Realize the Dream bursary endowment campaign. With Match Play, a donor or donors sponsor a student and are updated on the student’s activities during the year. These Match Play donations are provided and distributed annually. If you are, or your organization is interested in sponsoring a student through Match Play, you may send your gift directly via the Annual Fund and we will match you to a student.
Giving Options: An option we hope you will consider this year is a monthly gift. A gift of $10 a month is $120 a year; $25 a month, $300 a year, both less than a cup of coffee a day. Consistent monthly giving makes a tremendous difference. We will be contacting alumni through the year regarding monthly giving. Your monthly gift can be directed to support of a student through Match Play. We are receiving more gifts online than ever before. This year, we hope you will again consider giving online, as it reduces our operating costs and maximizes the benefit of your gift. If you have already made a commitment for the coming year, thank you, and we hope you will encourage others to give also. If you have not yet made a commitment, we hope you will give to the Athol Murray College of Notre Dame this year. Hounds have heart! |
