Funds raised through the sale ‘Mandi Inspires Me’ wristbands is now over $7000. This total is in addition to the many donations we’ve received for Mandi’s bursary fund. Just a note that ‘net’ refers to the cost of the wristbands and postage. A donor has covered these costs, however. NOTE: If you are donating online via Canada Helps, and would like us to send wristbands to you – we need the address information completed. If you prefer not to share your mailing address there, you may contact us directly via email with a mailing address. We cannot send your wristbands if the gift is anonymous, or the address information is anonymous. We’d like to, we really would, but we need just a little bit more info. Thanks to Notre Dame Alumnus, Walker Morrison ’06, orange wristbands have been made in honour of Mandi Schwartz who passed away April 3, 2011 after a courageous two-year battle with leukemia. The wristbands are orange, the colour that supports leukemia. The front of each wristband says ‘MANDI Inspires Me’ with the cancer ribbon in front and behind the message. The back has Mandi’s number '#17' and her favorite quote ‘Never Lose Heart’. Wristbands come in two sizes: Adult (8”) and Youth (7”), and can be purchased for a minimum $5.00 donation. Charitable donation receipts will only be issued for gifts of $10.00 or more. Local residents can give their donations directly to Walker Morrison, or to Bobbi Pow in the Development Office at Notre Dame. Your donation will go to the Mandi Schwartz Memorial Bursary to offer financial assistance to future Notre Dame Hounds (75% net), and to The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of Canada (25% net).
